Battle of the Books

A small group of 4th and 5th grade Ogden students is selected to travel to compete in the district-wide Battle of the Books competition in April. To compete for a spot on the BoB team, students interested should read the books listed on the NC Battle of the Books list (see below).

In December students interested in making the team will take two tests which are similar to the questions asked at the district competition.

• Students can prepare by learning the author's first and last name of each book.
• Additionally, students will have to match statements from the books to the correct book. For example, "In which book did the main character win 1st place in the Science Fair?"

Whether students try for the team or not, the book list is an excellent reading list for all students in grades 3-5 each year. The list is selected by a panel of librarians, so you know they are awesome reads!
