BEGINNINGS for Parents of Children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing
BEGINNINGS for Parents of Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is a non-profit that helps parents and families understand hearing loss, and the diverse needs of children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
The Auditory Learning Centre provides information, instruction and support services to older children, young adults, parents and caregivers. Using a caring Family-Centred approach, they help teach parents and caregivers how to help their babies and toddlers learn to listen and talk.
Easter Seals helps provide funding to individuals for durable medical equipment (DME) and hearing aids when there are no other resources available. They provide information on deafness as well as education options for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children.
Starkey Hearing Foundation sponsors programs such as “Hear Now” which is a national non-profit programs that helps provides hearing aids to those who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and have no other resources available by which they can obtain hearing aids.
The Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment Fund
The HIKE fund provides hearing devices for children with hearing losses between the ages of newborn and twenty years whose parents are unable to meet their special need financially.
The National Black Deaf Advocates (NBDA) is the official advocacy organization for thousands of Black Deaf and hard of hearing people in the United States. Their website provides information on Black Deaf history, available scholarships, as well as Miss Black Deaf America.

NC Department of Health and Human Services-Southeastern NC
The Division of Services for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing works to ensure that all Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Deaf-Blind North Carolinians have the ability to communicate their needs and to receive information easily and effectively in all aspects of their lives, especially their health and well-being. Their website provides informational videos (many in sign language) and resources about topics including domestic violence, emergency preparedness, and DHH rights.
This has "free online mini courses" and one of them is ASL for kids. This has video for each letter of the alphabet and family signs, etc. Click under “mini courses” and it is the course called “ASL for Kids - ABC Signs”.
Any of the books listed here are signed in ASL, SEE, gestures or some combination.

Hearing Loss Association of NC
The Hearing Loss Association of NC is a state association of the Hearing Loss Association of America which focuses on state-wide advocacy and cooperation. Their website provides informational videos about hearing and hearing loss as well as links to local fundraisers.
This website makes simple learning tools to help you study. You can create your own flashcards or search for ones created by other teachers, parents, and students. Practice your sign language skills or brush up on academics you are reviewing with your child!
Success For Students With Hearing Loss
This website has an abundance of resources for parents and teachers about hearing loss, advocacy skills, auditory development, and more. There are free resources and articles as well as games/resources designed for DHH for purchase.
Cochlear provides a great week-by-week teaching resource that parents and teachers can use to help their newly implanted child begin progressing with skills in audition, expressive language, receptive language, speech, and songs/rhymes/stories.
