The Incredible Years is a grant funded, parent education and support program that focuses on building and strengthening relationships between caregivers and children through the use of positive parenting strategies. The Incredible Years is funded by the Children’s Trust Fund of North Carolina. We partner with Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina to help provide safe environments and families for children in our community. The Incredible Years program is an evidenced-based model with 30 years of research showing its efficacy.
The use of skills learned in The Incredible Years helps decrease challenging behaviors at home, school, and in the community. The program facilitates social connections and support between participants in the program. Additionally, to remove barriers to attendance and participation, weekly transportation assistance, free childcare (when in-person), and dinner for the family is provided. There is also a monetary incentive for caregivers who successfully complete the 16-week program. Coastal Horizons Incredible Years operates in Pender and New Hanover Counties and has been operating since 2016. If you feel Incredible Years is right for you, please contact us at 910-523-3016 or 910-202-3155.
