My weekly newsletter can be found at the top of the homework sheet each week. There will be times where the newsletter will need to be more in depth. You will receive a separate copy of it and it will also post here.
Helpful Information
August 31, 2026
Thank you so much to all the families who sent in donations for our class! Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Our first week went very well and I am so excited for this year!
As we start our week, here are a few quick reminders to help things run smoothly this year:
Daily Folders: Please check and clean out your child’s folder daily, and take a moment to review their work together. Each day this week you will be receiving information about the programs we will be using this year.
Homework Packets: Homework goes home every Monday in a stapled packet with a newsletter on top. You can tear out each night's completed pages and return it in the blue Blair folder. Please help your child remember to write their name on every sheet.
Staying Connected: Our class will use TalkingPoints for quick communication. I check messages daily at 6:45 AM and after 3:30 PM. Remember to read Ms. Larson's newsletter every Sunday, which will contain important information for the week, as well as upcoming events and dates. I also have a website where you can find our schedule, dates, spelling words, and homework details. This is updated weekly and is a great resource when you have questions about our classroom. https://sites.google.com/a/nhcs.net/amy-b-coderre/
Transportation Changes: Please email the main office directly at info.blair@nhcs.net for any transportation changes.
I hope everyone has an amazing week and thank you for your support!

The School Day
Our school day begins at 7:40 but I do begin to work with students at 7:20. After announcements, we take lunch count. Please make sure your child knows if they brought a lunch or if they need a lunch from the cafeteria. If you pack a snack in a lunch box make sure your child knows what is the snack and what is the lunch. Because we are a CEP School, all students’ breakfast & lunch are free. The menus are posted online. Be aware that there are times when our cafeteria has to change the choices at the last minute, like when the delivery truck is late or the company sends the wrong food items. ALL students need to bring a water bottle to school every day. After lunch count is complete we begin our academic day. A schedule of our day is on my website. Our Library day is Monday and PE day is on Wednesday. Please make sure your child is wearing sneakers every Wednesday or they will not be allowed to participate in the planned activity. Our dismissal is at 2:30. We have snack at the end of the day. Please send a healthy snack and water bottle. Water is the only drink allowed at school. If you are picking up your child please make sure you arrive on time and be prepared for a bit of a wait the first few weeks as the PreK & Kindergarten kids learn how to do car dismissal. Please have your family number in the window since our dismissal is digital. Please make sure your child knows their family number, and the color and make of the car picking them up.
Homework
I do assign homework. The homework packet goes home each Monday and daily assignments are due the next day. Reading is a nightly expectation. Please remind your child to put their blue Blair folder into their book bag every night after they have completed their homework and reading log. This is a great habit to form from the first day of school, having the student be responsible for their own folder as well as library books.
Transportation Changes & Absences
Any transportation changes need to be sent to info.blair@nhcs.net. Changes are not allowed after 1:45. If your child is absent please send the note or email through the same email, info.blair@nhcs.net. Thank you for only using that link to send transportation and attendance changes. Please do not send it to my email or Talkingpoints.
Questions
Phone calls are sent to voicemail during the day and I will return your call as soon as I can, but it normally is after 3:30. I check my email at 6:45 am every day and after school.
Thank you for trusting me with your child. I look forward to a wonderful and FUN year in Room 181!
