Homework will be assigned each night and the packet will be sent home on Mondays. Assignments will be due the next day unless otherwise stated.

Reading 10 minutes a night helps your student become a stronger reader. Today your child is bringing home a reading folder with a couple of fluency passages & word lists in it. These are great options for your child to read each night. Please remind them to point to the words as they read. Each week your child will be bringing home passages or word lists that they can put in their reading folder and use as part of their 10 minutes of reading. Please keep the reading folder in a safe place. This week we are beginning our spelling words. A tic tac toe activity sheet will go home on Monday and 3 activities will need to be completed by Friday. Friday will be the spelling test. Students will need to be able to write the words as they are called out of order. Each week’s list will be half trick words (words your child needs to memorize) and half words that follow the skills from Fundations (words that can be tapped out if needed but for the test should be able to write quickly). Finally, please help our Trunk or Treat Fall Festival by donating prizes and candy to help fill 1st grade's trunk. We have only received 2 donations. Thank you!
