About Ms. Coderre
Hello! Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I have been teaching at Blair almost my whole career and there is nowhere I would rather be! We are a VERY close group, more like a family than coworkers. I am originally from outside of Boston, MA, and I moved to Wilmington to attend UNCW in 1993. I have taught kindergarten, first, second, and special ed., as well as 3rd and 4th grade in summer school. In my classroom we create a positive learning environment that promotes kindness and respect for all. I believe in forming a healthy, family atmosphere from the beginning. You will hear me refer to the students as “my kids.” I truly love and believe in what I do and I hope it comes across both in and out of my classroom. Families are my teammates and I believe in open communication and honesty. We are a team and I am thankful you are sharing your child with me this year!
In my spare time (haha), I enjoy going to the beach, cooking, traveling and learning about other cultures. I am a passionate advocate for Childhood Cancer. I have 2 AMAZING daughters. Alexis is 28, a graduate from East Carolina University in Psychology. She and her family just moved back to Wilmington after 6 years in California and we are so excited. My granddaughter Juniper will be turning 1 in September! Alexis is an early interventionist with children birth to 3. Abby is 25. She is a graduate from East Carolina University in Nursing. Abby was diagnosed with cancer in June of 2019 with T-Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She finished her 3 year chemotherapy treatment in the summer of 2022 but continues to see her oncologist quarterly. She works as a pediatric nurse on the same floor that treated her for cancer! Both my daughters were Blair Bulldogs, Noble Eagles, and Laney Buccaneers.
I look forward to working with you this year! “Together may we give our children the roots to grow and the wings to fly!” Welcome Bulldogs!
