Induction Process
NHS National Honor Society
Dear Rocket Families:
We hope this finds you well and able to enjoy some quality time with your children during the school break. Our induction process for new members will begin during the week of July 22nd. Rising juniors and seniors will need above a 3.6 out of 4.0 to be invited. These invitations will be sent to students through their school Gmail and to parents through the emails they have on file at the high school. Please look to the induction process timeline below for more information. The due date for all applications is August 30th. If you have any questions at any time during this process please contact one of the National Honor Society advisors: Mr. Doug Stanczak, or Ms. Katie Kardelis.
INDUCTION TIMELINE
After July 22nd, eligible students will receive email invitations to apply to the Honor Society. The email invitation will provide instructions on how to apply.
Once a student receives this invitation, they can immediately begin the application process. Every part of the process (registration, character reference, service, and leadership) will be completed electronically.
All applications received on or before August 30th will be reviewed by the NHS Faculty Committee for potential acceptance.
Students who could not make the August deadline due to vacations, summer camp, etc., need to contact Mr. Stanczak or Ms. Kardelis before August 16th to schedule an extension. Approved extensions are due September 6th.
All students will be informed of their acceptance or denial by October 1st in time for inclusion on college applications.
The induction ceremony will be held October 23rd. More information will follow.
Again, any questions or concerns regarding this timetable should be addressed to National Honor Society Advisors, Mr. Doug Stanczak, or Ms. Katie Kardelis.
