Riverside Emergency Services:  This community based mental health/substance use crisis service for all ages provides 24/7 psychiatric crisis evaluation and intervention for Needham residents.  You may call 781-769-8674 to access Emergency Service Programs and/or  Mobile Crisis Intervention Services (ie. home visits if deemed necessary and appropriate) instead of calling 911 or going to a hospital emergency room. Services are available to uninsured individuals and most insurance types.  

Project Interface is a referral service of the Freedman Center at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology that matches families with mental health practitioners.  If you call their number they will help you match your particular needs with an appropriate practitioner who accepts your health insurance.  

You may call them directly at the Helpline, 617-332-3666 x1411 Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm to consult with a mental health professional and to receive personalized, matched referrals.

The Needham Community Council   is a community service organization offering Needham residents a variety of support services. Go to www.needhamcommunitycouncil.org to explore their varied offerings which include a food pantry, a thrift store, medical equipment loan closet, ESL tutoring for adults, Holiday Outreach and other services.  Links to other agencies and organizations are also provided.

The Needham Health Department at  www.needhamma.gov/health offers an array of support services.  The links on this web page will connect you to the Needham Coalition for Suicide Prevention, the Domestic Violence Action Committee, and the Substance Abuse Education and Prevention Program.  Valuable Information and resources are included in this web site and it is worth taking your time to study what is there.

The Needham Health Department also coordinates various assistance programs for families who meet certain income guidelines and in certain emergency situations.  Call them to inquire.
