SEAMAN APPRENTICE
-Written test on NJROTC rates and ranks. (Chapter 4 of CFM)
-Written test on basic uniform parts. (Chapter 1 of the CFM)
-Written test on chain of command. Chapter 13 of CFM)
-Know and write the pledge of allegiance.
-Have a "80" average in Naval Science.
-No referrals within the last 6 weeks.
SEAMAN
-Written and practical tests on manual of arms. (Chapter 7 of the CFM)
-Written test on NJROTC award ribbons. (Chapter 1 of the CFM)
-Test on the Chain of Command. (Chapter 13 of CFM)
-Written test on military time. (NS 1 textbook, Unit 9)
-Written test on NJROTC organization. (Chapter 4 CFM)
-Have a "80" average in Naval Science during the previous weeks.
-Have passing grade in all other classes.
-No referrals during the preceding weeks.
PETTY OFFICER 3RD CLASS
-Written test on basic drill (Chapter 6 CFM).
-Written test on respect for and display of the flag. (Chapter 12 of CFM)
-Demonstrate Manual of Arms and ability to lead squad in drill (Chapter 6 &7 of CFM)
-Have a "75" average in Naval Science during the previous weeks.
-Have passing grade in all other classes.
-No referrals during preceding weeks.
-Must be qualified for Personal Appearance Ribbon
PETTY OFFICER 2ND CLASS
-Written test on rifle parts. (Chapter 7 of CFM)
-Written test on military customs, courtesies and etiquette. (Chapter 12 of CFM)
-Written test on the Chain of Command (includes NJROTC unit. (Chapter 11 of CFM)
-Have a "80" average in Naval Science during the previous weeks
.-Have passing grade in all other classes.
-No referrals during preceding weeks.
PETTY OFFICER 1ST CLASS
-Written test on uniforms and grooming standards.
-Written test on leadership.
-Write a 200-word essay on "What Leadership Means to me".
-Written test on Chain of Command.
-No referrals during preceding weeks.
-Must have a "80" Average in NJROTC.
-Have passing grade in all other classes.
OFFICER/CHIEF PETTY OFFICER (Billet Specific)
-Lead a platoon in Close Order Drill (Chapter 6 of CFM)
-Earned the Aptitude and Exemplary Conduct Ribbons.
-Must be a member of at least one NJROTC drill team.
-Will compensate for school athletic team.
-Do weekend events with ROTC.
-Participate (attend practices) with an NJROTC team. (Drill, Color Guard, Air Rifle etc)
-Pass the Physical Readiness Test, unless excused by the SNSI. (Chapter 3 of CFM)
-DEMONSTRATE LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL.
-Maintain a "85" average in NJROTC.
-Have passing grade in all other classes.
-Earn NS II, III, or IV outstanding cadet award.
-Written test on the chain of command. (Chapter 13 of CFM)
-Be reviewed and recommended by SNSI/NSI.

NS4/Seniors: All ranks
NS3/Juniors: Up to Cadet Lieutenant (Junior Grade)

NS1/Freshmen: Up to Cadet Seaman
