Lieutenant Commander (Retired) James Ogawa

Military Biography:

LCDR Ogawa completed 20 years of service as a Surface Warfare Officer, primarily on Surface Combatant Class ships.  His sea-tours included: Yokosuka, Japan; San Diego, CA; Bath, ME; Pearl Harbor, HI; and Everett, WA.  He attended Naval Postgraduate School and served as a Joint Officer for three consecutive joint tours as an instructor at US Army Command and General Staff College (student, then instructor), then as the Operations Executive Officer (G3 XO) for the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, NC, and C3 XO for XVIIIABC's deployment as MNC-I Commander, Iraq.  LCDR Ogawa last tour was Adjunct Math Professor and Assistant Pistol Team Coach at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.

Under Graduate Degree:  Systems Engineering, US Naval Academy (Class of '90)

Graduate Degrees:  Operations Analysis, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA;  Military Strategy, US Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS.

NJROTC Instructors are not employees of the Navy.  They are employees of the school where the JROTC unit is located.
