Academics

The Academics Team is run by Team Commander, c/PO1 Rohan Angala, and Deputy Commander, c/PO3 Kelly Scott. Academics is a core part of any NJROTC unit. 

Sub-Teams:

Brain Brawl - Jeopardy style quiz bowl where teams buzz in to answer questions ranging from topics such as Naval Terminology and Regulations, to History and Leadership.

Academic Tests - At Drill Combination Meets, the Academic team competed against other teams to score the highest on this 50-questions closed book exam, which weighs in with the Drill and Athletics team score, in order to win the drill meet.

National Academic Exam (NAE) - 25 of the top of the top cadets from every JROTC unit take the National Academic Exam, which includes questions from the Naval Science Curriculum as well as current events.

JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) - Cadets learn fundamental SAT/ACT topics such as well as financial literacy & science questions. Teams compete with each other from all Junior ROTC branch's(Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps). The top teams with the highest score then advance to Level II, Level III, and eventually the Academic Championship in Washington, D.C.
