Financial and Computer Literacy is required for all freshmen. Students will receive instruction in skills necessary to be successful in high school and beyond. These skills include financial planning, keyboarding, media research, career awareness, and computer applications.

Grades
Grades are weighted at 13% for Keyboarding Technique, 12% for Keyboarding Speed, 25% for Computer Literacy, 40% for Financial Literacy and 10% for Financial Literacy Quizzes.
Keyboarding Speed grades are based on a three minute timing and on Net Words Per Minute (NWPM).
The Keyboarding Speed Grading Scale is:
A 45+
B 40-44
C 35-39
D 31-34
F 29 or less
Improvement in Keyboarding Speeds will be taken into consideration for students who earn an A in Keyboarding Technique and who have completed the online MicroType Software keyboard lessons.
