We do our best to not intrude on the teacher's lesson that day. Our researchers will generally ask for help to find the least obtrusive location to sit and take notes. The researcher will sit in the back taking notes on what is happening. If the students break into group work, the researcher may walk around taking notes on what is happening in those groups.
There are some small variations for our classrooms by location. Our Michigan teachers might expect to be filmed using a Swivl camera that will track their movements through the classroom. These will be set up by a researcher who arrives a little earlier than the class begins. Michigan teachers should also expect to see students using phones in the classroom where they will be prompted to take brief surveys about their engagement, take pictures of their projects, etc.
"What requirements must I fulfill to receive payment?"
This question has it's own page!
"I finished the units, why haven't I been paid yet?"
Because payment has to be processed by about 8 people in 4 different departments, they are all processed at the same time. This will coincide with the end of the school year for most of our districts, but it may come just before or after.
"Where is my paycheck?"
It was sent to the address you gave us on the W-9.
Please let us know if your address has changed!
