Essay Requirements:
In a 5 paragraph essay (intro, 3 body paragraphs and a closing) explain either the chronological history or Rome OR three major themes of Roman civilization that were important and affected today's world, like government, economics, engineering, military strategies and inventions, art and architecture, legal system, or Christianity. (Important people or inventions is NOT an appropriate theme. Instead, put the people or inventions in the category where they were important.)
In your intro paragraph, set the stage and include a clear thesis statement that describes, in proper order, the themes of of your body paragraphs.
You must use at least 21 words from the list above in your body paragraphs. For each word you try to claim points for, you must define the word and place it in the right paragraph and link it to the theme of that paragraph with information. You claim the points for a word by bolding and underlining 14 it and numbering it sequentially in your essay. Once you have used at least 21 words in your essay's body paragraphs, you may go above and beyond by doing more than 21, in case any of the earlier words were not used or explained properly. You will still get full credit for a C for 21 properly used words as long as any 21 of your words are correct.

10 of your points will come from how well you organize your sentences to have an easy flow, rhythm and cadence.
1o of your points will come from avoiding spelling punctuation, capitalization and spelling errors.
