June 8 and 9: We're close to the finish line, but not quite there yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViF5idQfP1U
For the 9th at 5pm, your team needs to fight back against the attacks made on your argument. Do that at the bottom of your small group document.
The two people writing your team's intro need to submit that to me by 5pm on the 9th. It should introduce me to who Columbus was, when he lived, what he's famous for, and include persuasive info that makes me feel he was a good guy or bad guy based on which side you're on. The last sentence of the intro is your team's three arguments: Your thesis statement.
June 10 and 11: For the 11th at 5pm, the students doing the closing will submit a closing for their team, explaining their team's best points and their opponent's big weaknesses. A good closing has quotes and short recaps of the most powerful evidence supporting their side.
Email me with any questions.

World History Course Description
In World History, students will learn about Ancient River Valley Civilizations, The Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Chinese, the Medieval period, the Muslim culture and religion, and the Modern World from the Italian Renaissance up to global terrorist threats of the current period.
Students are graded on oral presentations, quizzes, essay and multiple-choice tests, and notes over nightly reading assignments. Late work is generally accepted until the end of the current chapter for no point deduction, but will result in a lower HoW grade for the quarter.
9th Grade World History is graded in two categories: Homeworks, Quizzes and other practice work will count for 25% of the grade. Major assessments and tests count for 75%.
The Semester grade is made of each quarter average at a rate of 45% and the Midterm or Final at 10%. The full year year grade is equal parts 1st and 2nd Semesters.
Each student may take a “freebie” on one homework assignment per quarter. The “freebie” must be submitted on paper with the student’s name and the name of the assignment. I then enter a 99 for the homework grade to identify that assignment as having been the “freebie” of the quarter.
Long exams like multiple-presentation group work, the Greek and Roman essays or the Medieval Short Story may require significant grading time before being entered into Powerschool, but most homeworks and quizzes are entered as soon as humanly possible.
I am generally available to offer help to students before and after school and during study halls, and especially on Thursdays, when I host Homework Club..
