Today is the beginning of the academic portion of learning from home. Please refer to the letter and the 10 day plan for book work that I sent home. If you are doing the book work, I have posted below some instructional videos in various formats. I will learn to do better camera work, this is a learning curve for me, as well. Please contact me via email, I will be checking often until 3pm each day, while also trying to make more instructional material to post. I am finding it much more of a time commitment than I expected to record, transfer, edit and post even the simplest short video, so be patient with me.
My challenge to you who are doing the book work, please record your own solutions to the assigned problems and share them with me. It would be like solving a problem on the Smart Board during class. If your solution is instructive to others, I will post it on my website for all to see and to learn from. I think that students learning from students is more effective sometimes than a teacher merely doing out problem solutions.
If you are doing the Moby option, continuing the Transformations in Geometry work we were most recently doing in class, it is now at the top of you assignments list. There are about 20 of these lessons. For other Moby, scroll down.
Also see below some videos to inspire you. This is a time when you will need to be self directed in your learning, disciplined without constant teacher oversight, and show some initiative. The tenacity and grit you will need to succeed are evidenced in the works of Col. Hadfield, Danika McKellar and the kid with the Rube Goldberg machine. I will share whenever I find inspiration or relevant material.
