Student engagement, a passion for reading, and a connection between school and home are keys to successful learning. We are hoping that our weekly homework will engage students and provide you an opportunity to read and make connections with your child.
Weekly Reading Homework Assignment:
ELA homework will be student-selected independent reading books. We want to encourage students to read as much as they can; therefore, there is no assigned number of minutes. The only way to get better at reading is reading. Students should have a “good-fit” chapter book or nonfiction book that they can read. They can also use a website that we use in class called Epic at home for a monthly fee to read and listen to books. Students can also log into Scholastic News to read current event articles. These are great for discussing with your child at home.
Online Homework Assignments: Students should utilize ST Math every night. They should aim to solve 60 puzzles at home each week. Students will login using their Clever accounts.
