In this course, students used digital imaging program Photoshop in order to create and modify images. Students learned to use the Adobe Photoshop suite and scan images as they explored the potential of the medium and created personally meaningful compositions. Using a variety of created and found images, students then learned how to make complex compositional decisions and visual effects via use of filters, the graphics drawing toolbox, color effects, and artful use of text.
Hello! My name is Catie Russo and I have had such a blast working alongside the middle school students enrolled in Creating Art with Adobe Photoshop this summer. Fun fact: This was one of the first classes I taught for YPS 12 years ago after graduating with my photography degree from MICA. This remains one of my favorite courses to teach for the program, and offers a nice change of pace after teaching drawing/painting skills to high school students during the school year. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with this fun and hardworking YPS crew and am so proud of the work they made this summer!
