MOORESVILLE NJROTC
Chief Steve Tate and I are proud to run the NJROTC program at Mooresville Senior High. The program has a rich tradition of success, and has helped produce some of our nation's future leaders.
The goals of the NJROTC program are to provide an opportunity for students to learn about the basic elements and requirements for national security and their personal obligations as American citizens. Specific objectives:
- Promote patriotism
- Develop informed and responsible citizens
- Promote habits of orderliness and precision
- Develop a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline, and leadership
- Promote an understanding of the basic elements and requirements for national security
- Develop respect for and an understanding of the need for constituted authority in a democratic society
- Provide incentives to live healthy and drug free
- Develop leadership potential
- Provide an alternative to gangs
- Promote high school completion
- Provide information on the military as a possible career
The program is also about building camaraderie, competing in drill/field meets, field trips, and HAVING FUN!
