Visualizing and Verbalizing (V/V) is a program specifically designed by Nanci Bell to develop language comprehension and thinking. In order to understand spoken and written language, we need to be able to create images in our head to along with the language. While this may seem natural to many people, some students benefit from direct teaching in creating mental images. We refer to V/V as "making a movie in your mind."
Structure Words are a list of descriptive words which provide a structure or framework to be used when visualizing, verbalizing and writing. They are numbered by their relative ease and importance for imaging details and the gestalt.
