Class participation
Mr. Malio's Quiz Re-Take Policy:
All test and quiz grades below a 75% can be re-taken by any student.
The highest grade a student can receive on the make-up assessment is a 75%.
Mr. Malio's Classwork and Homework Policy:
The majority of work in STEM will be completed in class, but if work is not finished in that time, students may need to finish some of the class work for homework.
Homework is a demonstration of your responsibility, it is expected to be passed in the day it is due.
I am looking for effort, not correct answers.
If an assignment is not passed in on time, it can be passed in by the end of a unit for FULL CREDIT!. After that point, classwork and homework can be passed in for HALF CREDIT.
Missing homework due to absences:
When absent, you will be provided with a reasonable amount of time to pass in missing work. For example if you are absent 1 day, you have 1 day to make up homework; when absent for 2 days, you have 2 days to make up homework.
Please see your teacher after an absence longer than 2 days to make up class work and homework and to determine due dates.
When absent, it is a student’s responsibility to determine what work he/she has missed. They should use their resources (friends, this website, etc.) to help prevent from falling behind. With some absences, you may still be able to get work done at home. Do the responsible thing!
Mr. Malio's Class Participation Policy:
All Masconomet classroom and school rules apply in Science class (rules are in your student handbook).
Come to class with a positive attitude ready to participate in class activities.
Come to class prepared by bringing materials (binder/folder, pen or pencil, and paper) and completed homework assignments to class.
Your behavior should show respect for the rights of others to learn and the teacher to teach.
Every day, you should make a positive contribution to our class. This is done by asking questions, answering questions and helping out your classmates.
