HOMEWORK

There is never homework in our General Music classes, but students are expected to complete all classwork and participate in class discussions each day. There may be times when students complete work at home because they have been absent or wish to add extra effort towards a class project - we encourage General Music students to discover and find out more about the consumerism, history, connections, consequences, and beauty of music in today's world, add extra work and effort towards classwork on their own time, and find answers to questions they may have about the different units we explore.

Band, Chorus, and Orchestra students practice on a regular basis in class, so there is no need to practice at home unless told to or if a student would like to. In-class rehearsal and practice is to prepare for playing and singing tests as well as concerts. There are exceptional young musicians that find their passion for playing and singing a calling of sorts, and may wish to practice after school and on the weekends. Just don't overdo it! Music is a discipline that requires hard work, but should also continue to be fun and fulfilling. :)
