PowerSchool is updated frequently. Please make sure that you are checking on your child's progress. If you have questions, please message one of the 3rd grade teachers. 

The end of Quarter 4 is May 22th. The last day to turn in work is May 10th!

REMINDER: School email addresses are only to be used for schoolwork. Please remind students that they should not be emailing each other with personal messages. 

Please place headphones in backpacks

Students need to keep a pair of headphones in their backpack. Please help check that they place them back after using them at home.

Unit 6 Weeks 3 & 4

Genre Focus: DRAMA/MYTH

Essential Question: How do you decide what is important?

For these two weeks our class will be learning about values. We will be discussing how we decide what is important. We will read different texts in the genres of myths and drama.

Here are some resources that you can use with your child to help reinforce the skills we’ll be practicing.

anguish    Anguish is a great suffering of the mind or agony.

necessary    Something that is necessary needs to be done, had, or used. 

obsessed When you are obsessed, you think about one thing all the time and nothing else.

reward A reward is something given or received in return for something done. 

treasure       A treasure can be money, jewels, or anything else that is valuable. 

wealth       Wealth is having a lot of money or valuable things.

Comprehension: Theme

Help your child read each theme and match the theme to the correct picture. Then your child will write a story based on one of the themes.

Sra. Ramos' CIENCIA UPDATE!

April 28th to May 10th

Due to the FastBridge Testing, We had to move the quiz to Tuesday, April 30.

This week's Essential Question is "Como afectan al medio ambiente peligros naturales?"  On Tuesday, we will start Lesson 3 Natural Hazards and the Environment.  Students will use evidence to describe how natural hazards and identify ways to reduce damage from natural disasters. Mystery Science: Where do flash floods happen?  (link for this week's mystery science).

Next week's Essential Question is "Como me protejo contra el tiempo riguroso?" We will learn how to be ready for a natural disaster and who comes to help when everyone runs away from a natural disaster.
