5. PE at Home

We teach out students at Madison Elementary that they need 60 minutes of exercise each day. We ask parents to help their student by allowing them time to be active each day. It does not have to be an arranged activity, just make sure to provide students the opportunity to be active.

Here are some ideas:

    • Go for a walk together in the neighborhood

    • Walk the dog

    • Turn off the TV and have students play outside without providing anything specific

    • If you have to play video games use the games that make the students move (Just Dance, etc.)

    • Have a friend come over to play outside

    • Throw the ball (baseball, football, volleyball, etc) with your student outside

    • Go for a bike ride

The idea is just to get students outside moving around and not stuck in front of the TV or video games.

Have fun!
