ECONOMICS

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Economics is a one semester course that is required for the 12th Grade.  Throughout the semester we will discuss the different types of economic systems.  In addition, the course goes into complete detail of the free market system and how supply and demand determines individual and global markets.  An additional component of the course is a look at the banking system, financial and stock markets.  The students will complete a six week stock project during this time.  Lastly, we examine how the Federal Reserve System is set up and its role in determining monetary policy for the United States.
