Mr. Tourtellot has been teaching in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District since 2013. He currently teaches Strings at Longview Farm Elementary, Lee's Summit Elementary, Summit Pointe Elementary, and Trailridge Elementary.
Mr. Tourtellot is an alumni of the Lee's Summit R-7 School District. He began his musical career in 4th grade Strings class while attending Pleasant Lea Elementary School, and continued to play while attending Plesant Lea Middle School and Lee's Summit West High School.
Mr. Tourtellot received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City's Conservatory of Music and Dance. While at UMKC, he studied the Double Bass with Sue Stubbs, Jeffrey Kail, and Gerald Spaits, and had the opportunity to perform with a number of band, orchestral, and jazz groups. As a performer, Mr. Tourtellot has performed practically every genre of music, and continues to perform regularly with the Lee's Summit Symphony and various jazz ensembles.
