2nd Grade
During this 5 week course the students are introduced to DARE Safety Tips starring Retro Bill www.retrobill.com. Students will watch a series of Retro Bill video clips. At the conclusion of each video, the DARE Officer will lead students in a discussion about the material covered in the video lessons. The lessons focus on both inside and outside dangers. Examples of these dangers include the following:
- What do you do if you find a gun?
- What do you do if you are home alone and someone calls or knocks on the door?
- Who should you call in case of an emergency?
- How can you tell what is safe to touch, taste, smell or eat?
- Why should you let people who are responsible for you know where you are?
- Why should you not take gifts or rides from strangers?
- Why should you refuse to go in the house of a person you do not know?
- What should you do if someone tries to touch you in ways you do not like?
- What are you feeling?
- What should you do when you are angry?
- How can you avoid fights?
- How do you stay safe on the internet?
