Access and Passwords

How do I access the Family Portal? 

You can access the Family Portal using any web browser (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.) that is connected to the internet. It will work on any device that can browse the internet but does work better on a computer versus a mobile device.

What is the direct link or URL for the Family Portal?

x2.londonderry.org    (no www needed before this address )

I tried logging onto Aspen but it won’t take my password?

  1. First, check to see if your address is x2.londonderry.org 
  2. Second, check the spelling of your username or password. It is case sensitive which means you need to use capital letters when you see capitals letters and small letters appropriately. It has to be typed exactly as it appears. 
  3. Third, after you set up password self service to be able to reset your own password. Directions on how to set up password self-service can be found here.

If you are still unsuccessful, please contact your student's school for additional help. 

What happens if I have logged in unsuccessfully too many times? 

You will get a message that states your account has been disabled. In order to use the Web Portal again, parents will need to contact the school Assistant Principal where their student attends to have the account reactivated from your registered email account. 

What are Security Preferences and why do I need them? 

Security preferences allow you to enter a question and answer for automated password recovery. Click on the set preferences top tab on the upper right side of the screen. Click on the Security tab, and answer the questions on the screen. Make sure you save your changes. 

What should I do if I forget my password? 

Once you have set-up your password recovery information go to x2.londonderry.org, click on the ‘I Forgot my Password’ link on the login screen. This will generate a new password for you and send it to your registered email account. You can use the directions on how to set up password self-service to do this here.

How do I change my password or e-mail address after logging in? 

You can change your password and e-mail address through the Set Preferences screen at the upper right side of the screen. Click on the Security tab, and change the email account and/or click on the ‘Change’ blue link next to Password. Once clicked on, you can enter your new password, and enter it again under the confirm new password. Remember, password must meet the requirements. You can click on the link next to Requirements in blue ‘Click to view’ link. 

What should I do if I forget my username? 

Check to see if you are entering the correct username. All family portal accounts begin fam_ then your first initial and full last name. In some instances you will have a number after your name. (IE: fam_tbrady - for Tom Brady) If you are unsuccessful with your username name, you can contact the school you picked up your account from  detailing the problem you are experiencing. 

If you are still unsuccessful, please contact your student's school Assistant Principal for additional help.

Why was I logged off? 

You will be automatically logged off if you are INACTIVE for more than 10 minutes. This is a security feature so if you leave your computer unattended for 10 minutes with no activity, no one else can access your data. 

Navigating and Using the Parent Portal (Family View)

How do I navigate or use my family view in Aspen X2?

Click on the Family View page on the top right navigation bar. This page has informational videos and directions at the bottom on how to navigate through and use the family view version of Aspen X2.

 Family View is the version of Aspen X2 that families and guardians can see when trying to access information on their student's classes and progress. Changes to Address, Residency, or Phone Notifications

I moved, can I change my address online? 

Online updates of student address info is not available, please contact the registrar at tbertrand@londonderry.org for additional help. For parent/ guardian contacts, see directions under "I want to update my contact information"

My child is moving from elementary school to middle school over the summer. Do I have to submit another application to the new school? 

No. Any student transferring from one school to another within the Londonderry School District will automatically have their account moved with the family portal account.

I want to update my contact information?

  • Log Into your account to see the Family View
    • This lands you on the PAGES tab of Aspen or click on the PAGES tab at the top left and that will bring you to the same page.
  • On the right hand side, there are two boxes and one should say TASKS
    • Click on the Initiate button

      • This will open a pop-up box. (Be sure pop-up blockers are turned off.) 
    • Click on the magnifying glass to choose yourself or the contact you wish to edit.

    • Change the needed info for that parent/guardian contact and click Next or Finish.
    • Note that it  may take up to a couple of days to update in all systems
Note that you can only update guardian/ parent contact details but not a student's information. Student information must be update through the school or the registrar.

I am moving out of district, do I have to tell someone about removing my portal account? 

Yes, you will need to contact the specific school your student attends.
