Analysis of NOMA over TWDP Fading for 5G and Beyond Wireless Systems
Next-generation wireless communication infrastructure is designed to handle the increased traffic load by facilitating seamless data rate transmission. While the 5G NR features the SE, ultra-reliable, low latency communication, the NOMA approach serves several users using the single resource element. This resulted in a significant improvement in SE compared to conventional OMA. However, the small-scale fading severely obstructs reliable transmission over the mmWave 5G band. Such systems best suited for the mmWave TWDP fading meet the reliability and high SE requirements.
This thesis aims to analyze the performance of OMA/NOMA over TWDP fading channels for 5G NR systems. Towards this objective, the closed-from expressions are derived and endorsed with simulated results over various parameters like ABER and SE. Further, results are demonstrated and compared with the existing OMA technique to show the significant performance of NOMA over such fading channels.
