Science Concepts and Skills Review (SCSR) Assignments:
2017-2018 Guidelines
SCSRs are found on Google Classroom.
You can find them in your classroom stream or by choosing the topic “SCSR” over on the left-hand side.
Eight Facts You Need to Know About SCSR Assignments
1. SCSRs comprise 10% of your science grade.
2. There is a SCSR due nearly every Friday.
3. They are assigned through Google Classroom and can be found in the SCSR topic.
4. You may work ahead on the SCSRs, but you should not fall behind.
5. The SCSRs will be graded automatically and you will know your score as soon as you submit one. You will receive an email with your score and a link to revise it.
6. You may revise the SCSRs to get a better grade. Revisions may be revised up until 2:30 on the due date for that SCSR. Ms. Finnerty will record the final SCSR grades on the day that they are due.
7. USE THE REVIEW RESOURCES to make sure that you understand the concepts. Ask for help if you don’t understand.
8. LATE SCSRs will be accepted through the end of the term, but you may not make corrections. Each Friday, Ms. Finnerty will change the SCSR that is due that day to only allow for one submission.
Why are you assigned a SCSR every week?
· You need to review science concepts and skills in preparation for next May’s 8th grade Science, Technology and Engineering MCAS, which covers all the science topics from 6th, 7th and 8th grade science.
· You may have missed some concepts from these grades or not completely understood them. At the very least, it is extremely likely that you do not remember these concepts well.
