Peer Educators

Research supports the belief that teen peer to peer education is an important component to effective prevention efforts. As part of the Lexington Public Schools’ Physical Education and Wellness Department, the Prevention Program prepares students to be health-literate and to make informed and healthy choices throughout their lives. Students learn to understand and demonstrate the responsibility they share as individuals, family members, and citizens to act in ways that enhance health for themselves and others. Participation in the Prevention Peer Educator program helps students develop and use their leadership skills to influence others to make positive choices. Students also learn how to help promote a more supportive and safe school climate for all Lexington students. As a potential leader at LHS, Clarke and Diamond Middle Schools students can make a significant difference in the Lexington schools and community. Students can earn community service for many of the Peer Educator activities.

LHS student leaders are jumping for joy and ready for another day of LexConnect!
