Stand Up to Stand Out High School Leadership Training

Purpose

As a potential leader at the high school, students can make a significant difference in their school and community. This workshop helps students develop and use their leadership position and abilities to influence others to make positive choices. Students also learn how to help promote a more supportive and safe school climate for all students

Goals and Objectives

This workshop helps students:

• Identify personal leadership qualities.
• Communicate effectively with students and adults about issues that affect them and fellow students.
• Develop and share creative and diverse approaches to peer-led prevention activities for elementary, middle and high school students.
• Develop creative and diverse approaches to problem solving, resisting peer pressure, developing healthy friendships, coping with stress and communicating with adults.
• Understand how student leaders can use their influence to prevent problems affecting other teens and to promote healthy lifestyles.
• Explore the value/importance of personal and civic responsibility.
