Rouse High School Student Aides 2024-25
Prospective Student Aide
Athletic Training is one of the fastest growing professions. As athletic trainers we evaluate, assess, rehabilitate and prevent athletic injuries. Our job is to keep athletes in the game.
Prospective student aides need to ask themselves this before applying for our program:
Do like being part of a team?
Are you responsible and trustworthy?
Do you like sports?
Do you have a service mindset?
Are you interested in becoming a medical professional?
Do you pass your academic classes?
If you answered yes to these questions, you have the potential to become an athletic training student aide.
If you are wanting to become an athletic training student aide please download the application below and return to the RHS Athletic Training Room to Miranda Gafford or Wayne Lauritzen

Current Student Aides
Current student aides are enrolled in various athletic periods based on their year in the program.
1st Years (Sports Medicine 1) are double blocked in 4th & 8th Period
2nd Years (Sports Medicine 2) are placed in various athletic periods based on need and schedules
3rd & 4th Years (Sports Medicine 3 & 4) are placed in various athletic periods based on need and schedules
Student Aides work under the direct supervision of the Staff Athletic Trainer for extra-curricular sport activities. They are also enrolled in one of the above educational programs during the same time. Student aides ARE NOT staff members and cannot make clinical judgments, refer athletes, direct treatments or make return to play decisions. In the absence of a Staff Athletic Trainer the students are considered managers under the direction of the head coach of that prospective sport. At no time will a student act independently in athletic training services.
