Students will learn the importance of lab safety.  We learn by doing in science class and will spend a lot of time modeling, experimenting, and working in labs doing many different things.  Safety is the number one priority at all times.  

Students will be given eye protection and aprons for lab activities as needed.  Long hair will need to be pulled back.  There can be NO FOOD at the lab tables, as it is unsanitary and unsafe. Sleeves will need to be pushed up to avoid spills.   There may be times when your student is require to wear a mask (due to dust or other unhealthy fumes) and/or non-latex gloves (to prevent allergic reactions or chemical contact).

Students be require to sign a lab contract.  I am also asking that parents/guardians also sign the contract.  This makes it possible for you to have a conversation about your expectations of safety as well!
