JOIN CHOIR!

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM 

• As a member of the Canyon Ridge Middle School Choir, you will have the opportunity to learn different styles of music that you perform at 4 concerts throughout the school year.  You will learn how to sing well, read music, and discover all the wonderful things music has to offer!

• 6th Grade students are in a class with all 6th graders of the same gender. 6th Grade students will have the opportunity to audition for solos, participate in private voice lessons during class, attend field trips, and sing and dance at our End-of-Year Show! 

• 7th and 8th Grade students are combined and are either in the Non-Varsity 7th/8th Grade choir or the AUDITIONED 7th/8th Grade Varsity Choirs. 7th/8th Grade Choir members will also have the opportunity to audition for solos, participate in private voice lessons during class, attend field trips, and sing and dance at our End-of-Year Show! Additionally, these choir members are invited to audition for the All-Region Choir. 

• All Choir Members will be invited to participate in choir bonding activities, choir celebrations, extra-curricular events, field trips, and more!

HOW DO I JOIN?

• Are you a hardworking and dynamic student?

• Do you love music? Do you want to learn more about music?

• Do you like to be a part of a successful team that also has fun?

Then you would make a GREAT addition to the CRMS Choir! Simply choose choir as a elective choice during course selections! 

*Students already enrolled in choir have the opportunity to audition for the Varsity Choirs at the END of the current school year*

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Can I be in choir and in athletics?

A. YES! So many of our choir students are also athletes. We work with the athletic directors to make sure your student can be successful with both. 

Q. Do I have to know how to sing or read music?

A. No! I will teach you everything you need to know.

Q. Are there performances outside of school?

A. Yes.  All choirs perform at least 4 concerts- Fall, Winter, Spring, and an End-of-Year Show.  All concerts are required.
