Teaching Your Child About Puberty
4th & 5th Grade Parents/Guardians:
Leander ISD 4th and 5th grade students are about to study an important lesson on the early stages of puberty which some students may be beginning to experience. In order for students to participate, parents must complete an OPT-IN form (below) for their child.
At Block House Creek Elementary, students will watch the videos listed below on Wednesday, March 6th. While watching the videos, students will be separated by grade level and gender. Please use the links in the parent Remind message to preview the video or email me for the link. For the 23-24 school year, previews will be made available Feb 20-March 5, 2024.

Reproductive systems
Health and nutrition
Hygiene and grooming
Self esteem
Physical changes
Emotional changes
If you would like your 4th/5th Grade Student to participate in the Puberty Lesson.
Please fill out this OPT-IN form by March 5th and return it to your child’s teacher.
