Build a Student Profile Based on ACCESS Scores
This one-page form takes less than 30 seconds to fill out, but will provide you with a general profile for what your EL student can do in your classroom for any task that requires the student to read, write, speak or listen. You will be able to use this form to accommodate classroom assignments appropriately to the EL's English language proficiency level. Your EL Teacher will have the scores you need to fill out and circle the appropriate levels. As your EL student increases his/her skills, your assignments will need less accommodations. If you need more information about the Can-Do Descriptors, see the link below, "Can-Do Descriptors."
Choose and download your copy here! The Can Do Descriptors highlight what language learners can do at various stages of language development as they engage in teaching and learning in academic contexts. They will help you understand what your EL students can do in your classroom with some support. You can then accommodate your assignments to engage more active learning for your ELs.
