Lab Safety Rules and Procedures

Attention: You must complete the Hand Tool, Power Hand Tool, Band Saw and Drill Press Safety worksheets and score 100% on all tests before attempting this project. Click on the link above for instructional videos and tests.

Wall Clock Construction:

• Cutting wood to length (12") using a hand saw

• Laminating wood stripes using glue and bar clamp

• Tracing design on wood stock and cutting with band saw

• Filing edges and sanding face with file, sanding block and 80, 100 and 120 grit sandpaper

• Drilling hole for motor using twist drill

• Drilling hole for engine mount using forstner bit

• Cutting decorative edge using router table

• Finish sanding using 150, 180 and 220 grit sandpaper

• Applying tung oil to face and edges

• Attaching numerals to clock face

• Final assembly
