Coaching Staff

Coach Harrison has been the varsity girls basketball coach in Laona/Wabeno for 10 of the past 11 seasons and the last 9 consecutive seasons. During the 2014-2015 season, Coach Harrison was the varsity girls basketball coach at Webster High School in the northwestern part of Wisconsin.

Coach Harrison is a 2008 graduate of Wabeno High School where he was a 4-year participant in football, basketball, and baseball and was the Salutatorian of his class. He was a 3-year letter winner in basketball and received honorable mention all-conference his senior season. After high school, he attended UW-Stevens Point to pursue a degree in Physical and Health Education. In 2013, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in Health Education. He earned his Adapted Physical Education certification the following year. During college, Coach Harrison coached SPASH's 7th and 8th grade girls and boys basketball teams.

After college, Coach Harrison was a long-term substitute in both the Laona and Wabeno School Districts while also coaching the varsity girls basketball team to a 13-9 record in the first year of the girls basketball co-op between the two schools. Coach Harrison also began to get the youth programs going by starting the Little Rebels Basketball Camp and Rebels Summer Basketball Camp.

The following year, Coach Harrison took a full-time job in Webster, WI. He taught elementary physical education and was the varsity girls basketball coach for the Tigers. Coach Harrison guided the Tigers to an 8-16 record and their first playoff win in 4 seasons. Following that season, Coach Harrison was offered and accepted the Physical Education job at the Laona School District. He also took back over the Lady Rebels basketball program and has continued to run the youth basketball camps and organize the Lady Rebels travel basketball teams for the 3rd-8th grades.

Coming into the 25/26 season, Coach Harrison has compiled a 175-125 record as a head coach including going 167-109 at Laona/Wabeno. He has guided the Rebels to three Northern Lakes Conference Championships, three Regional Championships, and a State Tournament appearance in 2023.

Coach Richmond is entering his 53rd year of coaching! He has been a fixture in Laona/Wabeno athletics for over 20 years while coaching football, boys basketball, and girls basketball. He brings a lot of energy and entusiasm to the court!
