PROJECT COORDINATION

KJ Peterson Consulting's (KJPC) core strength is the effective coordination of multi-agency restoration projects on public lands. The KJPC team has a proven track record of coordinating multi-million dollar wildfire restoration and habitat improvement programs for the federal government and their partners. We use industry-standard project management principles and methods to guide projects through all phases of the project life cycle, including initiation, planning, execution, and closing. 

Ecological restoration efforts are most effective when they are planned and implemented on a broad, landscape scale across land ownership boundaries (multi-boundary). This typically involves multiple partners, funding sources, agreements, and decision-makers engaged in multi-year projects. The need exists for project coordinators such as KJPC to serve as liaisons to connect all of the moving parts necessary to align project goals, objectives, and outcomes. We provide the critical services necessary for simultaneously coordinating multiple projects focused on achieving interrelated conservation objectives.

The KJPC team works with our clients to develop conservation strategies, project portfolios, and action plans that address environmental issues and priorities. We assist our clients in identifying and engaging partners to accelerate collaborative project implementation, and oversee the technical review of project proposals. We design and conduct project kickoff meetings to ensure a shared vision and understanding of the project, as well as to align project expectations and outcomes. Throughout the life of each project, we develop and use project management tools for scheduling and reporting on project implementation. We coordinate and track project timelines, conduct stakeholder briefings regarding project progress and concerns, assist in resolving implementation issues and barriers as they arise, and generally guide projects toward the successful achievement of deliverables.
