This document is a reflection I wrote on the material in the second module of the course Google Classroom Made Easy! This is evidence because it shows my thoughts and feelings on helpful tools that Google Classroom has to offer. This is evidence of several tools such as creating assignments, delivering quizzes, and embedding links and videos that help teachers deliver lessons and allows teachers more opportunity to efficiently use their time.
Module 2 Reflection:
Google Classroom offers a variety of tools that I believe could be very helpful in delivering lessons. Some of these tools include posting assignments, delivering quizzes, and embedding links and videos.
Google Classroom allows teachers to post assignments either as a grade or ungraded. These assignments can be posted for 1 class, multiple classes, or just 1 or a few select students. This ability to individualize assignments across multiple classes and to specific students is really helpful. Students who need a little extra help can be given additional documents, videos, or links to websites to assist them in their study. Being able to create and assign one lesson across all of my classes really saves me time as a teacher so that I can give more time to providing feedback and communication with my students.
I have not yet utilized the quiz creation tool on Google Classroom. This is one tool that I would like to use more and I can see all the benefits it has to offer. The quiz tool uses Google Forms which is another app in Google Suite that is easy to use. I have used Forms to create surveys but that is my extent in using it. I think using the quiz tool, and its ability for machine learning, could really save me time. The quiz tool can also grade multiple choice, and bubble answers so that I can devote my time to providing feedback on short answer questions.
I third tool that makes Google Classroom helpful is the ability to embed videos and links directly into assignments and or post. I have used this option a little bit and I think it makes the assignments and lessons much more fulfilling and it gives teachers the ability to address their student's different learning styles.
All of the tools I mentioned such as posting assignments, delivering quizzes, and embedding links and videos, are great time savers for teachers. Teachers can better use their time to meet individual needs by answering questions and providing feedback directly to students. This is extremely beneficial to students and gives them more opportunity to be academically successful.
