SVL is a web-based educational program of Shoreline Public Schools through Spokane Public Schools that provides instructor-led online courses to students.
All instructors have valid state certification in their subject areas. SVL presents students with an interactive learning experience, not a textbook online.
All SVL curriculum mirrors the scope and sequence of content taught in SPS classrooms.
SVL is not Shoreline online school and is not meant to replace instruction offered by Shoreline teachers. Students must register through Shoreline to participate in class. Virtual learning courses may not be substituted for similar courses offered in the school program that will fit in the student's four-year plan.
SVL courses are offered as an initial credit option only, and are open to Shoreline students who are enrolled full time, and demonstrate an exceptional need for alternative coursework to fulfill graduation requirements. Classes taken through SVL will be reported to the student’s high school and appear on their transcript (letter grade).
Please visit Spokane Virtual Learning website for more information about the program. Not all classes offered by Spokane Virtual Learning are offered in Shoreline and no forms are needed to register. Students must register through Shoreline. Please visit Course Catalog to view the course offerings.
Interested students should see their counselor. Prior counselor and principal approval is required.
Please make sure to discuss NCAA eligibility requirements with your counselor prior to signing up for the SVL course.
SVL courses are offered year around in Fall, Spring , and Summer Semesters.
During summer, Shoreline students can also participate in a variety of courses offered through Shoreline Summer School which is different from summer SVL program.
Please visit SUMMER SCHOOL webpage for more information or talk to your counselor.
