Students' written work will be submitted to turnitin.com for plagiarism checks and editing. Most universities and technical schools use this program, so this is a great opportunity for students to be accustomed to the sensitivity of the plagiarism scan and learn how to revise paraphrasing and source documenting.
1.) No student has the right to disrupt in any way the learning environment of his or her classmates.
2.) Absolutely no food allowed. There is new carpet I want to keep looking new. I will throw your food away, and then you will get to vacuum my room after school. Keep food out of this room.
3.) No cell phones allowed – this is in the handbook. If I see you use your phone except for music, I will confiscate it and turn it in to Mr. Jensen.
4.) Bathroom and drink breaks are the last 10 minutes of class unless there is an emergency.
5.) Respect your teacher and your classmates. Rude comments and bullying are not tolerated. This is a safe classroom.
6.) Stay on task.
Try to have fun in English, even if it is not your favorite class! Come in with an attitude that you are going to enjoy class and learn something – you will be surprised what a positive outlook can do!
