My name is Ms. Amy Smith. My family includes my three daughters, Raegan (STI second year), Brinlee (12th grade), and Harper (4th grade). I grew up on a farm near Hurley and attended Hurley Public School; after high school, I attended the University of South Dakota where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in English Secondary Education with a minor in Speech Communication. I have taught for the following districts over my career: Parker, Hurley, Viborg-Hurley, Tea, and now back to Viborg-Hurley.
My primary hobby (or obsession maybe!) is reading. I devour books and am usually reading a couple of books at the same time and listening to an audiobook. If you see me with earbuds in my ears, I'm not listening to music - I'm listening to a book! I also enjoy spending time with my family and cheering on my girls at softball games. I am also a runner - I completed my first half marathon in August! You can also find me at the Hurley Public Library where I am the head librarian.
