Greetings!

My name is Mary Jackson, and this will be my 6th year teaching music at VPA. It is an honor to be a part of the VPA school community, and I am looking forward to an outstanding new school year!

For the past 18 years, I have taught K-12 general music, choir, world music drumming, piano, and orchestra in both public and private schools. Sharing the JOY of music and encouraging each child to develop as a young musician is very important at VPA. Our music department goal is to teach students musical concepts and skills that are needed for a lifetime of enjoyment and appreciation for music. This is accomplished through a variety of experiences including singing, playing instruments, listening, moving, improvising, creating, and performing.
