Students who have taken Engineering Design or Engineering Principles may be given preference for this class.
Biotechnical Engineering - Biotechnical Engineering applies and concurrently develops secondary level knowledge and skills in biology, physics, technology, and mathematics. It includes experiences from the diverse fields of Bio-technology, Bio-engineering, Bio-medical engineering, and Bio-molecular engineering. Biotechnical Engineering may be taken by 10th, 11th or 12th grade students. Students should have experience in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and engineering, technology education. It is a project-based curriculum. Projects include CSI Forensics Techniques, DNA Modeling, Genetic Engineering and Gene Splicing, Fungi Bio-Fueled Model Car, Phyto-Engineering (Oil-Eating Bacteria), Orthopedic Implant Design, Aquaponics / Hydroponics, robotics arm and many more!
