This course provides an overview of the fields of Civil Engineering and Architecture, while emphasizing the interrelationship and dependence of both fields on each other. Students use state of the art software to solve real world problems and communicate solutions to hands-on projects and activities. This course covers topics such as: The Roles of Civil Engineers and Architects, Project Planning, Site Planning, Building Design, Project Documentation and Presentation.
Projects include Shed Project, Tutorial House Project, Lake House Project, Dream House Project, Commercial Project of student's choice, Surveying, Soil testing, structure analysis, model building of shed or house, and model building of dream house, designing and building a model of an alternative energy home, and more.
Equipment used will be soil testing equipment, surveying equipment, laser engraver to make precise models of houses, structural stress analyzer, Dimension 3D Printer, etc.
