3D SolidModeling Class is taught in conjunction with STEM Academy. It is a yearlong CADD class. It uses SolidProfessor for curriculum. Students will use SolidWorks 3D Solid Modeling Software and learn basic computer sketching, Intro to 3D, Parametric Modeling, making parts, extrusions, revolutions and other additive and subtractive methods of creating solid models. They will also learn about advanced modeling concepts, surfacing, sheet metal, mold design, weldments, assemblies, file management, top down design, advanced sketching, DriveWorksXpress, advanced parts, working drawings, orthographic views, isometric views, section views, exploded views, and simulations. Simulations will include some or all of the following: wind tunnel simulations, structural stress testing, electrical heat loading, thermal transfer, and possibly others. Finally they will be given the opportunity to prepare for the CSWA
Certified SolidWorks Associate test.
