Teacher Bio

I'm originally from Ohio and graduated with my B.A. from Ohio Northern University in 2009. Two years later, after eating an abundance of good southern barbecue and listening to jazz music, I graduated with my M.A. from the University of Memphis. I was instilled with a love of traveling at a young age, and head for the West coast of Africa in 2011 to teach 9-12th grade English for two years at an American school in Fes, Morocco. Those years were filled with cultural differences, language barriers, phenomenal food, weeks of sight seeing....and a bit of English. I finally made my way to Colorado in 2013 and started teaching at SLHS in 2014. I met my fellow Gator husband that same fall, and we were married in 2016. In my moments of spare time, I enjoy cooking, the theater, and a great cup of coffee. My favorite books include To Kill a MockingbirdThe Bell Jar, and The Nightingale.
