Ms. Bradley's Menu Project requires a lot of research and gathering of information. We need to learn about a country's culture, diet, customs, and
traditions. To do this, we are going to use the Jeffco Public Library Databases. These databases are reliable and credible sources of information. To use these databases, all you need is a Jeffco Public Library card.
Some of the best databases for our research today include:
CultureGrams (Jeffco Public Library card required)
Country Reports (Jeffco Public Library card required)
Grolier Online (user name: jcpl, password: jcpl)
WorldBook Discover (Jeffco Public Library card required)
CIA World FactBook (No login needed)
If any of these links are not working, please use the Jeffco Public Library Databases homepage to access them. The list is in alphabetical order and databases should be easy to find.
A website that is helpful for nutritional information is Choosemyplate.gov.
To become inspired to start this project, you may want to click through a TIME photo essay entitled "What the World Eats," based on Peter Menzel's book Hungry Planet.
To make your restaurant's website and menu, you will be using Jeffco Google Apps. Google Sites will allow you to collaborate with your partner to create a fun, interesting, and informative site.
To see a model example of a restaurant website with a complete menu, please go to A Taste of Japan.
